"Feminists For Life" wants college campuses to be baby factories
Prompted by this post on Pandagon, I just spent a little time on the Feminists For Life website.
They speak of the lack of resources for pregnant women and mothers who are also students in their amusingly titled report, Perception Is Reality.
This document relies heavily on one board member's quote, "They say I have a free choice. But without housing, day care and maternity coverage, it doesn’t feel like you have much of a free choice."
I think we can all agree that this is a real problem which should be addressed. Their solution, however, seems to be to encourage more women to get pregnant (they oppose "abortifacient contraception" which means no pill, IUD, or morning-after pill), and get more women to carry to term. I guess maybe they think if there are enough pregnant women on campus it'll "catch on."
I mean, sure, there must be some women who would carry to term if they felt they could do so more easily and continue going to school. But it's going to be a lot fewer than these people think.
And how's this going to work with the "sex can wait, my education can't" style abstinence slogans? How will you keep them from fucking if they know it won't "ruin their lives" to get pregnant?
Aha. Just figured it out.
The worldview is that dumb girls are having loads of babies courtesy of Welfare from the gubmint, and since having the baby doesn't interrupt their lifestyle of doing nothing beyond finding the next babydaddy, they're happy with the arrangement. Smart girls are not having babies because they have things to do like get educations. So we get too many dumb babies. Whites and "honorary whites" (nonwhites who are smart enough to get scholarships or whose families are well-off) are falling behind in the reproduction sweepstakes.
The FFL solution isn't to stop the dumb girls so much as it is to make sure that the smart girls get knocked up (by the smart boys, or the profs, doesn't matter, they're both vetted) and then let the gubmint help support them too. Yuppie welfare! If we subsidize stupid babies, surely we should subsidize the smart ones, amiright?
Plus they do emphasize getting the pregnant women information on father's responsibilities, which brings us to the next great feature: creeping fascism. We're getting the smart boys and girls under the yoke quickly. If they have to support a child or children before they're 21, they won't have the time or the energy to protest stuff like wars and racial/sexual/gender discrimination, to question the establishment way of doing things, or to question the morality or suitability of the work they're getting into. They'll fit better into the industrial machine if they never have the chance to think about life outside it.
