A large section of Narborough Road has been closed for police to carry out investigations

A motorcyclist has died following a crash near Leicester city centre.

The crash happened on the city’s Narborough Road at about 12:20 BST on Friday.

Police confirmed a 33-year-old man who had been riding the Honda motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.

The road has been closed inbound between Braunstone Lane and Fullhurst Avenue and is causing major tailbacks across the city.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
